This URL points to a patch to synaptics-0.14.4 which enables two-fingers scrolling on touchpads that support that functionality, like recent apple laptops.
I have used it for a few days and it works nicely. I have not had any problems with it. The patch looks rather complete, even includes updated manpage.

This is a duplicate of bug #134949, and the patch has been included in version 0.14.5 (released today) so when the version will bump it will be included.

BTW the ebuild in bug #135512 should include the support for this.
