*** Bug 134851 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Try using "mplayer" or "mpg123" to play out the sound and see if the problem still occurs. Thanks for the reply. I meant to mention: Xine and Mplayer work fine as well as video + audio in mythtv. Its only mp3 audio in mythmusic that runs fast. Brian It's doing the same thing using rhythmbox, and yes, it plays nice using mpg123 or mplayer. It's not just mp3's, but apparently all mythmusic playback. At least I'm getting it for FLAC and maybe OGG too (I'll check). I've been experiencing some problems with tv playback in mythtv as well. I get stuttering sound, and I believe that this is related to this bug. Both things can be "fixed" by changing the audio device to /dev/adsp on my machine. suttering sound is because of IRQ interupts not triggering properly on your box. using adsp is an async type of setup so it can drop some of the data as necessary. Not related to this. But the stuttering started at the same time as the fastforwarding in mythmusic started. That is what lead me to the conclusion that the issues were related. It's really more a question of garbled sound, rather than stuttering. And it starts after the playback has gone a little while, not right off. Haven't heard anything of this in any of the MythTV support channels (mailing list, irc, trac). I've heard lots of problems like this (fast sound, hissing sound, garbled sound) when using crazy CFLAGS like you've got. Unless you recompile your system without all these CFLAGS I don't think there's anymore that could really be done. Marking this as INVALID until you recompile it. |
