There is no useflag or dependacy which might cause dev-db/unixODBC to be merged with openoffice, and yet openoffice depends upon it for ODBC access to a mysql connection.  It needs libodbc.so.1 to use ODBC.  Upon merging unixODBC, the problem was fixed.

Suggestion: add the useflag odbc to the ebuild which causes it to depend on dev-db/unixODBC.
