vlc-0.8.5 segfaults playing a xvid movie.

Attached you find the output I got doing, I am using -ggdb and splitdebug, the output should be useful:

ulimit -c unlimited && vlc /media/sda2/movie.avi

and then

gdb `which vlc` --core core.20593 --batch -ex "thread apply all bt full" -ex "quit" 2>&1 > trace_vlc.log

I'd like to have a sample of the segfaulting file.

Could you please emerge ffmpeg and issue an ffplay movie.avi ?

ffplay movie.avi works great, it seems to be a vlc fault.
I'm splitting out from movie.avi the piece that breaks vlc, so I'll give you that as soon as I can.

Please give a try to 0.8.6_rc1 and if it's still an issue report upstream.
