I am currently at this state of affairs because I had an error with 
* Running automake
Can't locate Automake/Struct.pm in @INC

and after updating Perl 5.8.5 to 5.8.8, I decided to 
# emerge -C automake
without understanding the implications of it.  So now I am trying to put them all back.

Now nothing will install, its not always an automake error, but I feel its related.

I am not sure which information to include with this report.
