Bug 133701 – Amarok 1.4 unable to recode tags for me, collection db is corrupted after rescan

After upgrade to amarok 1.4 and rescan my collection (indicator always stop on 100% and newer finish scanning process, probably it tries to read russian tags?) i see all tags in amarok gui in wrong codepage. I can't found recode combobox in amarok 1.4 settings form.

My locale is koi8-r, but tags in media files are encoded in cp1251(windows).
After amarok upgrade all tags in cp1251 becomes unreadable.

I rollback amarok from 1.4 again to 1.3.8, because it unusable for me now. I think, amarok recoding tags feature is required.

The corruption is probably related to bug #133647.
About the recoding feature, it's not going to return at all, as upstream does not want it (as it's just a workaround).

ok, bug is duplicate and recoding in amarok just a workaround. 
But which equivalent do you want to implement instead of this workaround? May be you plan to include in Gentoo-disribution some shared-libs with recoding feature? 
(e.g. http://rusxmms.sourceforge.net/)
