you need to format the partitions with some filesystem in order for the installer to recognize them. As i described in the original post, i format with cfdisk.. the /dev/hda6 as Swap, and /dev/hda7 as Linux extended That partition layout doesn't even make sense. It isn't even possible. The extended partition must be partition 1-4 and it's not mountable/formattable. fdisk/cfdisk use the partition type in the partition table to determine what type of partition it is. The installer uses libparted's detection which uses the filesystem in the partition to identify the partition type. You use the installer to modify your partitions. Anyway, there isn't really a bug here. |
