The full path to the top of the required Maildir structure can be manually entered into the "Path" text entry field, so this isn't a show-stopper, but the browse dialog in this case is useful only for providing information for manual entry and not for actually selecting a directory. This bug is also reproduced in 2.8.x, was reported UPSTREAM (see URL) but still is not fixed. Created attachment 127940 [details]

Backported patches from UPSTREAM svn to fix this issue. Works here. I'd like to apply them, but the only question I have is: patch in evolution depends on functionality from patch for e-d-s. Can I add explicit dependency on 1.10.2-r1 into evolution? What gnome team think? Certainly not for evo 2.8.
