With MAKEOPTS="-j2", it appears that openal attempts to create the .libs directory twice (at the same time), causing the build to fail.  MAKEOPTS="-j1" makes the problem go away.

This didn't happen to me the first time I installed it, so it must be a race condition.

This was fixed.
