Sorry, forgot to actually press the Add Archs button :)
Comment 2 Matthias Langer 2006-05-12 04:52:44 UTC
i'm going to update to 2.6.16.16 on one of my boxes that acts as svn server, router, firewall and desktop for my sister in the next few hours. as soon as i rebooted into 2.6.16.6 i'll post 'emerge --info'. From that moment on, you can assume that the box is up and doing fine, as long as i don't post anything here.
Comment 3 Matthias Langer 2006-05-12 06:01:53 UTC
Rebooted into vanilla-sources-2.6.16.16 about 10 minutes ago. If nothing goes wrong, i will post no further comments (i don't plan to do a reboot for at least the next 10 days).

Comment 4 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-12 12:09:52 UTC
sparc still has to wait to go 2.6 stable...
Comment 5 Mark Loeser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-13 13:22:03 UTC
Just curious, is there a reason to go with this version rather than one that has been in the tree for longer than a few days?

Yes, 2.6.16.16 fixes CVE-2006-1860 on top of the security fixes of the earlier 2.6.16.y releases.

Comment 11 Henrik Brix Andersen 2006-05-28 03:34:55 UTC
alpha, arm, ia64, s390 - any chance of getting either 2.6.16.16 or, at your choice, 2.6.16.17 or 2.6.16.18 marked stable any time soon? :)
