The documentation was confusing previously and I think that you did not do an "emerge system" which was needed. The docs should now be fixed but I'm forwarding this issue to ZhEN for clarification. I will look into this. did you do a source /etc/profile after entering the chroot? //zhen Yes, I did. I believe the problem was as Daniel Robbins pointed out. The old docs seemed to imply that once you were done with the stage 1 tarball that you had the equivalent of a finished stage 2...so I skipped everything in stage 2. ie: I didn't do a emerge system. Ah, okay. There have been several issues like this one, and I have since changed the docs so that they are clearer. //zhen Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this. |
