The environment variable KDEDIR is not set. This variable should contain the path that KDE is installed into. (/usr/kde/3.4 on an up to date system)

This variable is used by programs to install KDE specific files into the proper place. KParts is one example of files that need to be installed into $KDEDIR. Without this variable set, the program cannot install files into the proper place.
