How did you get Code Aster working? Could you please send me the detailed procedure you followed, I will try to make an ebuild out of it. Daniel Well that was some time ago. Just get the sources and follow the install document. Take care to provide all dependencies I mentioned above. "T Well that was some time ago. Just get the sources and follow the install document. Take care to provide all dependencies I mentioned above. "Télécharger" means "Download" :) I wonder that such a important project doesn't have a english translation. If you can't get it to portage itself maybe try to apply for the science overlay. As soon it's gentoo available gentoo users will push some progress there as I know them. There I agree. It is not a barrier for me but it is for others... :( > If you can't get it to portage itself maybe try to apply for the science > overlay. I created ebuilds for paraview, opencascade, netgen and I started to work on salome and openfoam (see the requests in bugs.gentoo.org). These ebuilds aren't perfect but in most case they are functional. I did not get so much response... :( I have taken a closer look to Code Aster. Most of the installation seems to be done via a python installation procedure controlled by a configuration file. Code Aster 9.0 needs: Tcl Tk Numeric gmsh gibi grace hdf5 omniORB and omniORBpy (I hope I did not forget anything). Then, the source code provides: aster astk eficas homard (that according to the licence can only be built if it is to be used with Code Aster) med metis-edf pylotage scotch It seems to be python based installation procedures with limited Makefiles. So, there is a lot of work to do. That's for sure. It's clearly far beyond what I can do. Unfortunately. So, I would like, as you did, to request ebuilds for _all_ the packets that Code Aster contains. No progress here for year; closing WONTFIX. Feel free to reopen with an ebuild; good luck ;) |
