debianutils 1.16 is needed for apmd.
The current ebuild can be used by renaming it and changing the fetch URI to:
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/d/debianutils/debianutils_1.16.tar.gz

Thanks for the update info.  Wow, we were using Potato's debianutils!
