Humm, I don't know about that. Ok so here's what I did first: ---------- ultima joonas # emerge -av knetscan These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! [ebuild N ] sys-apps/netkit-base-0.17-r8 55 kB [ebuild N ] net-analyzer/knetscan-1.0 USE="-arts -debug -xinerama" 508 kB Total size of downloads: 563 kB Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No] y ---------- netkit-base compiled without problems. That version 0.17-r8 is already marked stable. But what it comes to knetscan: ---------- checking for rpath... yes checking for KDE... libraries /usr/kde/3.5/lib, headers /usr/kde/3.5/include checking for KDE paths... defaults checking for dcopidl... /usr/kde/3.5/bin/dcopidl checking for dcopidl2cpp... /usr/kde/3.5/bin/dcopidl2cpp checking for mcopidl... not found configure: error: The important program mcopidl was not found! Please check whether you installed KDE correctly. !!! Please attach the following file when filing a report to bugs.gentoo.org: !!! /var/tmp/portage/knetscan-1.0/work/knetscan-1.0/config.log !!! ERROR: net-analyzer/knetscan-1.0 failed. Full configure error of knetscan-1.0
After quick search (in google) it appears mcopidl is part of arts.. problem is USE="-arts" is failing for this package, even with defined --without-arts. Note, I have not verified this. Thanks, drac (In reply to comment #3) > After quick search (in google) it appears mcopidl is part of arts.. problem is > USE="-arts" is failing for this package, even with defined --without-arts. > > Note, I have not verified this. > > Thanks, drac > Thank you drac! I emerged arts and knetscan with arts-flag and it compiled without problems. It works too! So force USE="arts" at this package and you'll get my support on making this stable (like it matters) :-). wee.. would you please open another bug for the issue? this bug is, after all, a stablization request (In reply to comment #8) > would you please open another bug for the issue? this bug is, after all, a > stablization request > It's fixed in CVS now.
