Description Rene Wagner 2002-12-30 08:02:34 UTC
Hi,

attached you'll find mozilla-mycroft.tar.gz containing
mozilla-mycroft-20021227.ebuild and an initial ChangeLog for it.

The mycroft project provides numerous search plugins (aka Sherlock plugins)
that add the functionality of searching e.g. freshmeat/google-groups/... to
the search sidebar of mozilla.

The ebuild simply downloads a .tar.gz containing all plugins provided by
mycroft and installs them to /usr/lib/mozilla/searchplugins.

There might be a problem with the version name of the ebuild...
It seems like the mycroft people update a .tar.gz every now and then at the
same URL.
Renaming the ebuild to -cvs wouldn't be correct though, as the ebuild doesn't
'cvs co' the current cvs tree. Also, I'd prefer a snapshot based ebuild over
a "live" ebuild.

Long story short... Seems like it'll be neccessary to include the current
snapshot (2002-12-27 according to the mycroft site) in the distfiles
directory (or wherever such snapshots go).

I haven't found any copyright notice... According to
http://www.mozdev.org/copyright.html mycroft must be under MPL then.

I'd prefer net-www/mozilla-mycroft over x11-plugins/mozilla-mycroft
(netscape-flash is a plugin, too, but also resides in net-www).

Regards,

Rene
