I believe that the pon and poff scripts (and respective man pages), formally
installed by the `net-dialup/ppp' ebuild, should be installed as part of the
`net-dialup/pppconfig' ebuild for the following reasons:

1. They are referenced in the pppconfig man page.

2. They are *extremely* helpful.

3. The comment in the `net-dialup/ppp' ebuild in a comment provides this
explanation for the scripts no longer being installed: "This will have to be
updated to work with the new net.ppp0"  I must disagree.  I cannot see where
these scripts create a conflict given they use different means of configuration
which are an issue of personal choice.  Also, if one has chosen to use
pppconfig, one has already elected not to use `net.ppp0' since the configuration
generated by pppconfig is incompatible with it.  Finally, I find `net.ppp0'
wholly unsuitable for managing a non-persistent dialup connection whereas pon
and poff handle this gracefully.

I agree about their usefulness as I use them myself. However I have noted the same comment in the ebuild and agree on the points that they should be add back in along with the other helper scripts and that net.ppp0 doesnt need them. I would like to leave them with the ppp package and have done so, please note ppp-2.4.1-r13.ebuild:)
