Looks like the problem is with gcc-3.4, and I can't reproduce this with the preprocessed output given with 3.4.4 or 4.1.0. Can someone verify this? You'll need gcc-4.x to compile glibc-2.4 on ppc. oh.. so this is the problem: while doing a stage1 the new compiler (gcc-4.1.0) does not get selected, so glibc won't compile.
