On Toshiba A45-S150 laptop, when "docache" is specified at boot with gli livecd, CD makes it to "Copying loop file for caching" and fails with a kernel panic.

You don't even have enough RAM to cover the size of the CD, let alone *twice* the size of the CD.  You cannot use "docache" with anything less than 2x the amount of RAM as the size of the CD.
