I might as well tell you straight away that I'm a total noob when it comes to these things but here goes.

I have tried to install Gentoo using the 2006.0 live-CD. I used to have SuSe and it worked fairly well but now I'm fed up with it and I've decided to give Gentoo a try. When I used SuSe things worked like a charm, no problems with X11 or anything but now when I booted the live-CD using the default gentoo kernel it won't detect my Nvidia Ti500 graphics card. It says something along the lines of "X11 failed to boot, no display (display 0) detected".

I have tried other live-CDs (DSL, Knoppix and such) and they have not had any problems finding my display.

I'm sorry if this post doesn't describe the problem all that well but please get back to me if there's anything I can do to clarify things.

This is NOT a bugzilla product bug. Read the product descriptions before filing bugs...

You also neglected to post emerge --info and nvidia drivers version.
