Description Rod Smith 2006-03-25 20:54:49 UTC
I'm unable to save files to NFS using OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 (via the 32-bit openoffice-bin package). The error dialog box reads "Unable to save the document Untitled1: General error. General input/Output error." Files loaded via NFS are loaded in read-only mode. The mount options in /etc/fstab are "defaults" and I'm using a 64-bit 2.6.15 kernel. The server is running SuSE Linux with a 2.6.8 kernel and the relevant /etc/exports options of "rw,async". OpenOffice.org 2.0.1 (again, via the 32-bit openoffice-bin package) worked just fine. I'm able to work around this problem by using a Samba share and smbfs mount rather than NFS.

emerge --info openoffice-bin

Yeah, known upstream issue. Not a Gentoo-specific bug.
