The driver wasn't keyworded stable for any arch at the time of release. Our policy strictly disallows any unstable drivers/packages on release media. > There is no iwconfig in the LiveCD (wireless-tools package) Dupe of Bug 127550 > There are no distfiles/packages available. Maybe you should do a better research and actually *look* at the packages available on CD. > Mirrors of the distfile tree out there only have the 2.4 kernels, not the newer > 2.6 stuff. Eh? kernel 2.6 has been the default since 2000.5, what are you talking about??? You can install livecd-sources-2.6.15 directly from the livecd. > I cannot even get the > kernel from the web, as they're not available. See above. > Whomever moved everything "from The-Gentoo-Way" to "100% the LiveCD way" should > be bitchslapped with a damn trout. Gentoo just went from "tools to let the > user do what they want to do" ... to ... "experimental crap which locks you > into certain paths with no escape." Put out the LiveCD (it's a good idea) but > put it out in parallel with the traditional way so you don't jack over the > users who don't fit your ideal profile. If you dislike the livecd, don't use it. There minimal CD available, you can also install Gentoo using any linux boot cd or existing linux install and choose such media that will support whatever weird wifi card you happen to have. Bugzilla is not a place for your bitching, sorry. Closing INVALID, this is not a bug.
