Downloaded stage3 tarball.  Boot to LiveCD, install with stage3 .. per the directions (not dynamic)

System's up, but no iwconfig!  wireless_tools was not included.

Did you *tell* it to be?

The wireless-tools package is not a part of the standard stages.  If you want it to be installed, you need to add it to the extra packages list in the installer.
