That's because you are messing with the virtual, don't file bugs when using this extremely stupid hack: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Modular_Xorg#.27emerge_-u_world.27_wants_to_install_xorg-x11_6.x_or_virtual.2Fx11 RDEPEND="x11-libs/openmotif media-libs/flac !media-libs/libcddb sys-libs/ncurses alsa? ( media-libs/alsa-lib ) encode? ( >=media-sound/lame-3.93.1 ) vorbis? ( >=media-libs/libvorbis-1.0 ) || ( ( x11-libs/libXt x11-libs/libXp ) virtual/x11 )" DEPEND="${RDEPEND} sys-apps/sed || ( ( x11-misc/imake x11-misc/gccmakedep x11-proto/printproto x11-proto/xextproto ) virtual/x11 )" Sorry, but I'm innocent. I don't even have that file mentioned in the wiki. And anyway, it's still not working. Should I try to contact the package maintainer directly? (In reply to comment #2) > Sorry, but I'm innocent. No, the modular dependencies are correct, as you can see above. Remove whatever mention on virtual/x11 from /etc/portage (In reply to comment #3) > Remove whatever > mention on virtual/x11 from /etc/portage I've checked every file in /etc/portage. I don't have an /etc/portage/profile directory either. There's no trace of any "virtual/x11" inside any of the files located at that place. Also, if I do follow the less stupid hack just after the one you've mentioned, (or create a own Virtual for xorg7) cd /etc/portage mkdir profile cd profile touch virtuals echo 'virtual/x11 >=xorg-x11-7.0.0_rc3' >> virtuals I get: thinkpad ~ # emerge xmcd Calculating dependencies ...done! >>> emerge (1 of 1) media-sound/xmcd-3.3.2 to / >>> md5 files ;-) xmcd-3.3.2.ebuild >>> md5 files ;-) files/xmcd-3.3.2-gentoo.patch >>> md5 files ;-) files/digest-xmcd-3.3.2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) xmcd-3.3.2.tar.gz >>> md5 src_uri ;-) cddb2supplib.tar.gz >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking xmcd-3.3.2.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/xmcd-3.3.2/work >>> Unpacking cddb2supplib.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/xmcd-3.3.2/work * Applying xmcd-3.3.2-gentoo.patch ... [ ok ] >>> Source unpacked. * Building xmcd... thinkpad profile # Meaning, it does not even start to compile. Nevermind. I've found it. I didn't install x11-misc/imake. |
