Were you running those commands as the 'gentoo' user or root? On the LiveCD, you can do 'sudo su -' in a terminal to get root access. As for the installer, can you be a bit more specific than "stays blocked on the first screen"? That is a progress but not true because network is not running so I have no access to mirrors or repositeries to realise the installation. All of those tools are available, they just require root access to run, as mentioned in the Handbook. I tried with sudo -i and then got access to net-setup eth0 and adsl-setup. Thank you for the help. For the GTK-Installer, the checkbox "My network is connected and running" has to be checked for continuing. I think my problem is resolved |
