Hi,

It is just a homble opinion, but it is really good and useful if it has an
script like the java-config one to gcc3/gcc2. It can solve a lot of problems
like programs that do not compile on gcc3 or bugs in gcc3 (like the famous java
plugin bug on mozilla).
You can alternate the GCC env variables with an script like gcc-config or
something like that, and can have the gcc2 and gcc3 existing together on the PC.
It can solve the problem of the libstdc++-libc6.2.2 that you have solved on the
new compat-libs, but you solve with an compilation and not with an binarie.

It is just a opinion... thanx a lot! Bernardo S. A. Silva

It already exists in portage. It is alled gcc-config. The two gcc ebuilds which
can use it are gcc-3.2.1-r6 and gcc-2.95.3-r8
