I've tried to upgrade back to media-libs/xine-lib-1.1.1-r4 and see konsole what it says about the problem. Playing video from MPEG file works fine unless I use stop button. Then I get: kaffeine: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.1/xineplug_decode_ff.so: undefined symbol: pp_get_context This crashes always. When I try to play DVB-T source, I get the same error: Using DVB card "DiBcom 3000P/M-C DVB-T" tuning DVB-T to 674000000 Hz inv:2 bw:0 fecH:2 fecL:9 mod:3 tm:1 gi:1 hier:0 polling.... Getting frontend event polling.... Getting frontend event Event: Frequency: 674000000 NOUT : 1 Tuning delay : 1320 ms dvbEvents started kaffeine: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.1/xineplug_decode_ff.so: undefined symbol: pp_get_context This also crashes always. I can confirm this bug too, I can't play DVB with kaffeine anymore and for me the easiest way to bring kaffeine down is just to select the xine settings in the kaffeine menu. With the same error as above with older xine-lib. got the pp_get_context-error too, in all applications that uses xine-lib, e.g. gxine. emerge -C faad2 && USE="-aac" emerge ffmpeg && emerge xine-lib solved the problem for me here. you can emerge faad2 afterwards without any trouble. xine-lib has it's own aac-support but will use faad2-libraries when it's installed. have a look here http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112921(In reply to comment #2) > I can confirm this bug too, I can't play DVB with kaffeine anymore and for me > the easiest way to bring kaffeine down is just to select the xine settings in > the kaffeine menu.
