I just made emerge sync und emerge -Dup world.
It appears commonbox-utils-0.5 as available update.
emerge -f commonbox-utils does not find any server who serves that version.
On the Online-Database there is no 0.5 mentioned.
Within the portage-tree after update there is a 0.5 version.
Ebuild of 0.5 version after update is not masked for x86.

For me it seems to be a little problem.

It appears the commonbox-utils-0.5.ebuild was removed from portage:
http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/x11-misc/commonbox-utils/

Closing bug as commonbox-utils-0.5 is no longer in the tree.
