the open-office file containing the bug
this is the file that i talked about in my previous post
We can't fix binary packages, we can't also fix versions that no longer exist in the tree. Reopen if this issue exists with version that are actually in portage. The file in question has a paragraph style (0.5cm spacing below paragraph on the first line. In general, also related to the other report, I would advise you to use styles. With styles you know what happens, and do not have to search a document for font sizes. All font sizes (and everything else) is defined in the styles. The behaviour you see here is certainly to be expected. Actually this space between the paragraphs should be done this way, not by inserting an empty paragraph. What's probably byting you is the autocorrector that corrects your behaviour. If you don't want this to happen (or don't have the time to learn to use styles) you can look at disabling autocorrect. The behaviour with backspace is sometimes awkward, but what happens there is that the paragraph style of the paragraph you were on before the backspace is used as the new paragraph style. As the second line's paragraph style does not have spacing, the spacing is removed when you split the lines again. In short, it's not a bug, it's a feature. Basically openoffice allows you to specify complex formatting relations between paragraphs. This goes as far as specifying what the style of the next paragraph should be. One can for example specify that after a header, the first paragraph should not be indented, while the succeeding paragraphs are indented. Similarly one can use automatic paragraph spacing as has been byting you. |
