Hi,

The change from 2.6.12. to 2.6.16 is very hard. The menu-structure turned from above to downward and isn't compatible.	The good old configs are good for nothing and in arch-2.6.16 isn't xen. I.e. I can't find a /usr/src/linux-2.6.12.6-xen-r2-Dom-U/arch/xen/configs/xenU_defconfig_x86_32 anymore. I translated my "old" config into a new 2.6.16 and examined this more than 3 times (both are alike). Without success. But if I use a 2.6.12.DomU with a 2.6.16.Dom0 I get a connection ( with the modprobe errors).

The situation with 2.6.16 is really "marvelously" the connection to the lvm-vg fails but to the .img's it's going on without a net.

I know xen is now a part of x86 but in this way it is too much pedal on the metal. Gentoo does not have finished supplied rpm's or dep's with a initrd for everyone and genkernel fails in this connection.

So we need a Description of what is going on with the new kernel. In particular how do you build a DomU with 2.6.16.

If you have other starting points there are very welcome

Many thanks for your time

Ma

And please do not delete the 2.6.12-ebuild.

xen-sources-2.6.16 is a snapshot of the current xen *unstable* tree applied to the -rc3 kernel. There are going to be bugs in it, but there is nothing that I can do about that. If something doesn't work (like creating a domU), ask on the xen mailing lists, and if you still believe it's a bug, please report it upstream at bugzilla.xensource.com.

If you believe that this is a bug in the ebuild, or otherwise Gentoo specific, rather than a bug in Xen itself, then please reopen this bug report.

Thanks for your answer!

I added a DomU config.
Perhaps it can help somebody.

Regards.
