I upgraded GTK+2 to the latest version (2.8.8) and also compiled Firefox 1.5.0.1 and Thunderbird 1.5 from source. I noticed that something bad happened to texteditor field in both Mozillas.

Here's what to do:
1. Type a multiline message/letter like this one.
2. Move the cursor wherever in the text but beneath the text from the line above.
3. Press the up arrow key.
4. Cursor moves to the begining of the previous line instead of the same position.

Cursor should act properly like in every text editor.

This does not happen in other applications using GTK+2 such as bluefish, so I think this is Mozillas' issue. This problem is absent in the -bin version of Firefox.

The -bin version of Firefox does not have this problem? Then this must be a compilation error: a compiler bug or a subtly broken system. Could you post your 'emerge --info' (post it to bug #122464) to see what the similarities are between our systems?
