There is a conflict in the "stable" versions of hal, pmount and ivman on amd64 machines.  The stable version of iv man on amd64 is 0.5_pre2 and it requires hal = 0.4*.  The only stable version of pmount requires hal >= 0.5.1.  So recent updates to my system have left my automount stuff badly broken and I have not been able to figure out how to fix it.  Is there a fix in the wings that I should wait for or has a work around for this been documented some place that you can point me to?
