Description Cláudio Valente 2006-02-12 15:56:44 UTC
* lynx is indicated as a dependency but I just built it and ran it with lynx not installed (packages.provided) with no problems, am I missing something
* perl is used during the build but is not listed as a dependency at all (I think during the documentation build, which I think should be optional via use doc)

Thank you in advanced

perl is present on every Gentoo system, no need to depend on it.

Ok!

What about the lynx dependency?

I've been running without it (and built it) with no problems.

And why lynx in particular? why not virtual/textbrowser?

What's so special about lynx?
What it is used for?

Hi Cláudio,

Lynx is used as yacas' default help browser, even though it
should also work with other browsers, but I haven't tried it.
Just type ?? at the command prompt and you will see.

I'll close this bug for now and hope your questions were
answered.

Best,
Markus
