With trying out and installing Xorg-X11-7.0-r1 I stumbled on a little problem. While following the official guide which instructs to make a back-up of the installed Xorg-X11 and unmerging it. After that you are supposed to re-emerge Xorg-x11. Everyting went well until it hit xorg-server. The problem was that /var/lib/xkb didn't exist, even though xkeyboard-config links to it. It's a bit annoying since it breaks building xorg-server.
