Description Timothy Miller 2006-02-07 13:47:08 UTC
I've just updated from 3.4.2 to 3.4.3, and now I find that Konsole windows won't give me a shell. They just hang there with a cursor. I'd love to give you my emerge --info, but I also can't seem to launch any kind of terminal. xterm doesn't even pop up when I try to run it directly.

Aha. I tried booting an older kernel, and terminals work again. Looks like this may be a problem with "make oldconfig", and I'm missing something important. Pseudoterminals? Can you even turn that off? I just went through every configuration option I could find in "make menuconfig" and didn't see anything of the sort.

what kernel versions are you going between?
Comment 3 Timothy Miller 2006-02-09 07:08:42 UTC
from 2.6.12-gentoo-r10 to 2.6.15-gentoo-r1

Sorry that no one really took care of the bug. We're simplay understaffed. As latest KDE versions work fine with current kernels I'm resolveing as fixed. Please reopen, if you still have problems, Timothy
