Hi. Please try the latest livecd-x86-basic CD at http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/experimental/livecd and post your results here. These are the 1.4 release beta CDs. Same problem with livecd-basic-x86-200212100.iso. Also, 'rescue ide2=0x180,0x386' gives me an 'image not found' error. Do a "livecd ide2=0x180,0x386" and that should work. Post results here :) With livecd ide2=0x180,0x386 it's working now. Thanks :-) BTW - The isolinux prompt is really difficult to reach. Just holding down 'shift' shows the 'boot:' prompt briefly, but it doesn't actually stop and wait for input. I'm having to hold down 'shift' and repeatedly tap some letter. Then in maybe 1 in 10 attempts it will stop and allow me to type something. Try the "2002122100" CD. The usability issues have been fixed. The image is now called "gentoo" rather than linux, so type "gentoo bootopts=x,y,z,etc." Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this. |
