Description Max Loparev 2006-02-04 12:12:45 UTC
After upgrading firefox to 1.5-r9 fonts in it looks ugly, because of wrong AA rgb_order. Looks like it is not using nighter fonts.conf, nor gconfd, but some default settings. I'd returned back to 1.0.7 and it works as fine as before. I have LCD with BGR orientation, so i see that something is wrong very ditinctly.

P.S. gtk was updated to 2.8.8 while firefox was updated, but thunderbird and rebuilded firefox-1.0.7 works fine with it.

You have to now tell firefox/thunderbird how to handle the fonts changing the dpi for fonts in advanced config is all that is needed. Change dpi settings to system and all would have been fine.

hey, why do you closing my bug even not checked was your suggestion helpfullor not?
I read all forums and use google before, and i am shure that IT IS NOT DPI or SOMETHING ELSE, it is wrong rgba_order differs from that i setted in my ~/fonts.conf!
Comment 3 Max Loparev 2006-02-04 13:21:05 UTC
~/.fonts.conf even
Comment 4 Max Loparev 2006-02-05 05:58:33 UTC
seems like gtk+-2.8.8 problem
gtk-demo has same problem
pygtk app gajim too
gtkwave
gqview

just Thundebird-1.0.7 and Firefox-1.0.7 avoids this
Firefox was rebuilded after upgrading from gtk+2.6.7 to gtk+2.8.8 other applications not.

Should I open a new bug?

problem has dissapeared with upgrading to pango 1.0.3 instead of 1.0.2
Now all gtk2 apps looks like it was before gtk-2.8.8
