An emerge sync yielded the same verification result.
then:
# rm /usr/portage/perl-core/File-Temp/File-temp-0.16.ebuild
# rm /usr/portage/metadata/timestamp.*
# emerge sync

re-downloaded the ebuild to the same digest verification error.

The ebuild looked good with no visible errors.

Since it yielded the same RMD160 value as the original each time

An: # emerge =/perl-core/File-Temp-0.16 --digest

was successfull.
