Bug 120875

Summary: gnome-base/orbit-2.12.4 fails to compile.
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Alex Brandt (RETIRED) <alunduil>
Component: [OLD] GNOMEAssignee: Gentoo Linux Gnome Desktop Team <gnome>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: blocker CC: gentoobugs
Priority: High
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Whiteboard:
Package list:
Runtime testing required: ---

Description Alex Brandt (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-29 14:57:43 UTC
Consistently, this package fails to compile. I did a small amount of grepping via the errors from make, and determined that it was missing an integral file in the source code called 'poa-defs-common.c.' I was wondering if something could be done about this, or if I was the only one having this problem. My emerge --info is attached to the bottom of this message. The file (as well as I can determine) should be located in ORBit2-2.12.4/src/orb/poa/, but the list of files in this directory follows:

Makefile
Makefile.am
Makefile.in
orbit-adaptor.c
orbit-poa-export.h
orbit-poa.h
poa-defs.idl
poa-macros.h
poa-manager.c
poa-policy.c
poa-private.h
poa-servants.c
poa.c

Alunduil

Having a similar problem here, but seem to be happening in orbit-interface not in poa.

The system that I am working on has been disconnected from the Internet for months, only until last week has that changed. The clock during that time had skewed tremendously. Right now, and for the fast few days, it has been synced via NTP, but when I first started emerging, over 200+ items, it may not have been so at the time, not really sure. There are 5 other systems on my network, all having not been connected to the Internet also, so remembering which system synced via NTP correctly in the beginning is hard to say.

I've been trying to look into the makefile, and the source directory in question. The problem I am having is understanding the syntax of the makefile. I'll do some more googling, but if anyone has a guide on gnome's source (specifically the makefiles) I'd be obliged if you sent it my way.
