![]() I am running the 4191 driver with the 2.5.51 kernel (used the 2.5 patch from http://www.minion.de/nvidia.html) and everything seems to work fine (xscreensaver 3d seems faster). I'm using a Asus 7100 32Mb (Geforce 2/MX). Cya lX Same here (work fine, also V7100). Try to play with agpgart/nvdia's gart drivers ? Hmm, I also have the ASUS 7100. I have not tried AGPGART, at least not knowingly. I'll try to look around and see what that is. ;^) Kernel AGP driver. You can try either the kernel's agp driver, or the one supplied with the nvidia drivers .. check the README with the glx drivers for more info ... Im also having problems with 4191. After leaving the computer on over night it locks up every time. It seems to happen after the screen blanks. Im using the latest gentoo-sources with acpi compiled in and kernel agpgart on a Geforce 4 ti4200. Had no problems at all with the previous nvidia drivers. Okay, I figured the performance side of the problem out by forcing Option "NvAGP" "1" # "3" works too. However, now I am having other sort of problems. I am having the mouse coursor replaced by some rectangular texture once in a while, and sometimes the graphics isn't displayed properly (some noise occurs in some applications, for example, asclock). Also, my set up for launching xine in a separate X server on the TV-out doesn't work anymore. I will try to investigate a little further before switching back to the previous version. have you all tried the newest 4-series nvidia driver? and if so, what news? Try the latest version, and reopen if still issues. |
