Ebuild
I do not think this is ready for prime time. I tried it with both risky and pertty USE flags set. Now, when I hit CTRL-SPACE it no long brings up the XIM Chinese input method windows in KDE applications. XIM still works for non-KDE applications. Chin Yee: The ebuild I attatched here is the standard 3.3.5 ebuild with qt-copy support controlled by a "qt-copy" USE-flag. The ebuild on the forums is a lot different. Thanks Simon Strandman, I confirm the ebuid attached here does not disable XIM. However, the ebuild attached in the forum with both risky and pertty USE flag set does disable XIM in KDE. I cannot test this ebuild because the necessary file qt-x11-free-qt-copy-20060122-3.3.5.patch.bz2 is not on any of my Gentoo mirrors. Where do I get it ? Ahh... sorry, found the URL myself. I don't know why portage did not downloaded it itself. Henning Rogge, where was the url? I am having the same problem (In reply to comment #7) > Henning Rogge, where was the url? I am having the same problem > You can get all the stuff here: http://snigel.no-ip.com/~nxsty/linux/ As discussed with the other Qt maintainers on IRC, we are not going to add a qt-copy USE flag. One of our reasons for this is that Qt-copy is a moving patchset against unreleased snapshots, with patches not yet accepted upstream. Not only would it be against gentoo philosophy to stay close to upstream's releases, we also can't guarantee sufficient stability etc.. Note that there're some efforts going on in the forums to provide ebuilds with this patchset, if you disagree with us here.. |
