Description cami 2002-03-17 11:35:59 UTC
BIND version 8 is still in wide usage. The latest version of BIND 8 is BIND
Version 8.3.1 (Released February 2, 2002)

If you are running a version of BIND prior to version 8.2.5, we recommend you
upgrade for security(http://www.isc.org/products/BIND/bind-security.html)
reasons.

I added bind 8 too packagemask for 2 good reasons.
1. Bind 8 is b0rked and keeps getting lotsa security flaws. on the other hand
Bind 9 is getting better and better is use it on multiple boxes at my uni. SO i
would like to advice all users too use bind 9

2 Bind 8 filenaming is b0rked becuase it hasnt a version numer in the filename
there is a chance that the new ebuild would download an old version of bind from
one of the mirrors, and bringing one of gentoo's users in danger.

If you got any comments ont this decission please contact me.
