Hi.

I would think that using of ufed - Gentoo Linux USE flags editor (http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=ufed) - is a good point. It makes installation much easier.

So first we need to pack ufed on livecd's and then we need to extend current gentoo handbook.

Much better to just edit make.conf by hand; ufed will not be as up to date in its available flag choices as USE flag changes are made frequently between media releases. Besides, adding several new steps (download, compile, install package(s)) just to edit a file is not a good idea. nano is built-in; in this case, I think the KISS principle clearly applies.

We really can't document something not available from the release media. Passing to the releng :).

We aren't accepting any requests for feature enhancements at this time, especially for the Minimal CD media.  Anyway, ufed is on the LiveCD, which is a fully usable Gentoo environment.
