Hi

the RRDtool's stable version in portage (1.2.6) is 8 months old, and 1.2.11 is stable IMHO (I'm using it with Cacti on a quite large - 6000 graphs - setup). Plus RRDtool >= 1.2.10 is up to 6 times faster (in the case of smokeping). Maybe 1.2.11-r2 could be stabilized ?

I have issues with this being stabilized as it will break a lot of things that I maintain that won't work with 1.2. I would ask that this be marked as a dep on bug #105619, which I plan on resolving shortly. Stabilizing this now will break a number of things

1.2.6 is already stable in portage, so a lot of things are already "broken"...

hehe was waiting for someone to point that out :) Let me put it another way, netmon is hoping to do some changes to rrdtool shortly (read next week or two) and  until we're done we'd rather not stabilize anything relating to rrdtool. It isn't breaking things because we are just forcing different versions in the DEPEND as you'd expect, but stabilizing right now won't help our SLOTing efforts.
