Because you probably chose livecd-kernel which only installs binaries and not the kernel source. No, I made SURE that I clicked "gentoo-sources" checkbox. It's weird! I don't get it. Every time I do an install I click the gentoo-sources button and the bootsplash button as well. Is it the bootsplash button that is causing the error?? Run the install in debug mode ("Verbose" option on second tab of "Pre-install Config" page) and then attach the /var/log/installer.log.failed and /tmp/installprofile.xml to this bug. No response from reporter...closing. Moving to Release Media/Installer. Typical of gentoo bugs - problem exist but close and hope it goes away. This occurs because the kernal selection does not work on the live cd. It always saves the genkernel in the xml reguardless of what the user has selected If you can recreate this problem like the previous user please follow agaffney's instructions and provide us with a detailed log. We can't fix bugs without any information other than "it didn't work". |
