just tried starting in a new X server with hwcursor and no composite.. one of the random keys I pressed attempting to elict a response created a little black box with a rapidly increasing number in it that followed my mouse cursor around. That was the only sign I got that blender was aware of the mouse... blender didn't respond to mouse clicks _at all_ until i stumbled across alt+q (quit) where a click anywhere in the screen exited. started it up again (and again), with the exact same behaviour. recompiled with CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer" and all behaviour mentioned still exactly the same I would guess that the problem you are having is due to composite. I would switch composite, and swcursor off if you want to use blender, as the blender interface is opengl. Triffid, Is this still occuring with blender 1.41? If so, what version of X are you using? It's working fine here without compositing extension enabled. nvidia-kernel 1.0.8178-r3 xorg 6.8.2-r6 blender 1.41 User response needed here, see comment #4. |
