please re-emerge sandbox then try to recompile banshee again. That worked. I emerged sandbox-1.2.12, which was previously 1.2.11, and banshee emerged succesfully. great ;) *** Bug 119945 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** didn't do it for me, please reopen... I did the following: # emerge --oneshot sandbox (reemerged sandbox-1.2.17) # emerge banshee (gave the following access violation) mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 mkdir: /root/.gstreamer-0.8 #emerge info Portage 2.1_pre3-r1 (default-linux/x86/2005.1, gcc-3.4.5, glibc-2.3.6-r2, 2.6.14-suspend2-r7 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.14-suspend2-r7 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.12.0_pre15 dev-lang/python: 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=pentium-m -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/splash /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium-m -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirrors.sec.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/gentoo/ http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/" LANG="de_DE@euro" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--sort-common -s" LINGUAS="de" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.de.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X Xaw3d a52 aac acpi alsa apache2 apm arts audiofile avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bzip2 bzlib cdparanoia cdr crypt cups curl divx4linux dts dv dvd dvdr eds emboss encode esd exif expat fam fbcon ffmpeg flac foomaticdb fortran ftp gd gdbm geoip gif glut gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml hal icq idn imagemagick imlib ipv6 jabber java javascript jpeg junit kde kdeenablefinal lcms libcaca libg++ libwww lua mad mhash mikmod mime mmx mmxext mng mono motif mozilla mp3 mpeg mysql mysqli ncurses nls nptl nsplugin ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl php pic pie png posix postgres ppds python qt quicktime readline recode ruby samba sdl slang sockets spell sqlite sse sse2 ssl svg tcltk tcpd tetex theora threads tidy tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode usb vorbis wmf wxwindows xine xml2 xmms xpm xsl xv xvid zlib elibc_glibc kernel_linux linguas_de userland_GNU" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LC_ALL reopening if you don't have this directory /root/.gstreamer-0.8 created please create it and try again i'm sure this is not related to banshee itself. creating the directory did the trick, but why does the emerge want to copy files into my root home? Since the issue is somehow resolved, close this if you want. If you can answer my question, I would appreciate it. thanks (In reply to comment #7) > creating the directory did the trick, but why does the emerge want to copy > files into my root home? > > Since the issue is somehow resolved, close this if you want. If you can answer > my question, I would appreciate it. > > thanks > It needs to write on .gstreamer-0.8 dir to update the registry. So sandbox needs to write there. if the dir isn't created it will cause access violations. More questions you can reach me by email or irc. Closing |
