Please update the ebuilds... thank you.
Comment 1 Andrei Ivanov 2006-01-11 02:42:10 UTC
I thought about putting the versions in the summary, but I thought there were too many (also version 7.4.11 and 7.3.13 were released too).

Comment 2 Octavio Ruiz (Ta^3) 2006-01-11 12:42:09 UTC
PostgreSQL minor versions 8.1.2 and 8.0.6 are available today. The fixes in the 8.1 and 8.0 branches are critical.

 * error in ReadBuffer that can cause data loss due to overwriting recently-added pages. This applies to the 8.1 and 8.0 branches on all platforms.

Other fixes included are:

    * Character string locale comparison bug. This may require a REINDEX
      on text column indexes in some locales, such as Hungarian.
    * Prevent accidental changes of locale by plperl
    * Two fixes for Japanese encodings
    * Two fixes for COPY CSV
    * Fixes for functions returning RECORD
    * Fixes to autovacuum, dblink and pgcrypto

---

A version bump of 8.0.5 -> 8.0.6 seems to work.

portdir overlay for postgresql, libpq 8.1.2

This compiled fine on x86, and seems to be running OK too. It's a pretty naive update, i just sed'ed all instances of 8.1.1 to 8.1.2. Digests are included but you may have to regenerate them.

hi, is possible to introduce a modification of the ebuild of postgresql-8.1.2 to integrate the pgcluster patch "pgcluster-1.5.0rc4-patch" info at http://pgfoundry.org/frs/shownotes.php?release_id=418

actualy I try your ebuild and all compile well.
so I modify it in this way:

1) insert:
#P_HIERPG="hier-Pg8.0.1-0.5.4"
PGCLUSTER="pgcluster-1.5.0rc4"

2) modify: (adding a use flag)
IUSE="ssl nls python tcltk perl libg++ pam pgcluster readline xml2 zlib doc selinux kerberos pg-intdatetime"

3) insert:
pgcluster? ( http://pgfoundry.org/frs/download.php/621/${PGCLUSTER}-patch.tar.gz )"

4) insert:
epatch ${FILESDIR}/${P}-sh.patch
if use pgcluster; then
    cd ${S} || die
    epatch ${WORKDIR}/${PGCLUSTER}-patch
fi

the first shout seem to work, now I proceed with the installation of more machine to create a test enviroment.

Thanks for your attention, Dario

p.s. some useful info about my first test installation
