Description John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-02 15:51:37 UTC
All these packages should be tested and stabled together.

I am part of the x86 team, but would like another member to test to make sure. I've been running these packages on an otherwise stable box for about a month, with no outstanding issues.

The specific problems with NVIDIA and RenderAccel have been "addressed" through a message displayed to the user in post install. Please see bug #113123 if you would like to see more information about the bug.

Make comments about any GTK+ specific problems on the "Depends on bug" ( made specifically for GTK ).

This is in preparation for eventually stabling gnome 2.12.

Thanks!

I stabled pango, cairo and glib on alpha. However gtk+'s tests fail:

Is that expected to fail ?

Comment 6 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-03 16:39:06 UTC
just to add a note, spoke to ferdy and told him that it passes the tests for me ( on x86 ).
Comment 7 Mark Loeser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-04 15:26:50 UTC
x86 done
Comment 8 Róbert Čerňanský 2006-01-05 11:24:55 UTC
Please see bug #117916 which is related to this (oregano needs old cairo).

ppc stable
Comment 11 Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-11 11:58:10 UTC
With respect to comment #5:

I tested some GTK+ applications (including gaim, evolution, gnumeric and abiword) and gtk-demo, and everything seems to work. However, I still get those errors on tests.

I stabled everything you asked for but gtk+-2.8.8. I'm hereby requesting advise from the Gnome Herd. I'm GTK+ clueless.

Cheers,
Ferdy
Comment 12 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-01-11 16:57:37 UTC
gtk failing `make test` is something the GNOME team has ignored for a while ... see bugs 84078 and 83915

i'll go ahead and file a fresh one
Comment 13 Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-13 15:04:50 UTC
Stable on alpha now.

Thanks SpanKY for filing that bug.

Cheers,
Ferdy
