Test whether is works first... I wrote an email to the recent maintainers of CornerXMMS, asking for help regarding the problems I described below. The emails content: ------------------------------------------------------------------ I installed CornerXMMS-0.1.0 using the gDesklets shell. When I started CornerXMMS the system (?) complained: "no interface for IKXmms found" and "no interface for IKIconAnim found" followed by numerous python (?) script errors. Browsing the archive showed me that the content of the folder Controls was not extracted by the gDesklets shell. Extracting the folder manually solved the error above and the plugin was displayed as expected. Clicking on any button had no effect - especially not the "play" and "open file" buttons. Probably this is due to CornerXMMS expects XMMS already running. In my opinion CornerXMMS should start XMMS on occurrence of those ^ events. Now what is working is opening the "settings window", "pushing the exit button" and so on (all icons in the very bottom of the plugins GUI). What does not work is the buttons for playing and so on (open file dialog, play, stop et cetera). Then reading the file INSTALL starts like this: "To install this Display, simply copy Sensors/* and Controls/* into your gdesklets home dir (likely .gdesklets)." But there is NO folder Sensors in that archive. Maybe there should - sounds like that is needed for ... starting XMMS or making XMMS play when pushing the CornerXmms' play button!? Switching severity back to "normal" ... why are "enhancement" reports NOT shown in the "my bugs list"? I'm sorry they probably are ... the reason for not showing this bug is "RESOLVED TEST-REQUEST". I hope it's okay to reopen it? (In reply to comment #2) We won't keyword something that's utterly broken. Well ... I still hope that I get in contact with the maintainers to solve these problems. ;) (In reply to comment #6) > Well ... I still hope that I get in contact with the maintainers to solve these > problems. ;) Feel free to reopen with a version that actually works... Meanwhile I'd rather see this package.masked if it's equally broken on x86. ;) @ all: please report if CornerXMMS works on ~x86 as shown on packages.gentoo.org @ mr moc / jakub: mark it TESTING ^ then :p |
